Stepping Stones
Our Stepping Stones scheme awards grants to other charities that reduce child poverty by removing barriers to education and employment for disadvantaged young people.
The scheme is one of many ways that Freemasons in England and Wales support young people in their communities who are in need. Since the scheme’s launch, the Trust has awarded over £1.3 million to 63 national and local charities.
Important update about the Stepping Stones scheme
In November, Stepping Stones grants were awarded to ten charities – further information about these grants can be found here.
In April, the Trust will become part of a new charity called the Masonic Charitable Foundation. From this point forward, all grant-making will be awarded through this new charity, including grants made to charities which support children and young people.
During this transitionary phase, we will not be able to consider any new applications or respond to enquiries about Stepping Stones. Please read our FAQs for additional information.
